5 Qualities the Best People in the trading places gifs Industry Tend to Have

This post is from one of my favorite bloggers, Gaby of the Little Things. Gaby writes about the importance of self-awareness, and I found her post to be very inspiring. I think this is a very good idea for all of us to try to get a better understanding of how our thoughts, feelings, and actions impact the world around us.

This is exactly why I wrote this post. Gaby has the same idea as me about how self-awareness can help one recognize when one is on autopilot. I think she got it wrong though.

I think I got it wrong.

As I’ve mentioned before, my favorite bloggers all have a unique way of explaining how self-awareness can help us become aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. Gaby is one of those bloggers. She’s particularly good at explaining how self-awareness (and awareness) can help us recognize the difference between a bad decision and a good one. We can see what we’ve done and what we’re going to do next, and we can recognize when we’re on autopilot.

I would agree that we can be on autopilot if we’re not aware of our habits, routines, impulses, and reactions. But we really need to see them as autopilot just the same. We need to recognize that we’re not actually in our own heads. We need to recognize that we’re not really in control.

I was reminded of this when I watched the latest trailer for Deathloop. I was not impressed, as it seemed like it was still stuck in an old, tired, “what I want to do now!” mindset. The trailer for the game, however, was full of interesting new ideas that I could see as a good thing.

I had the same thought and I couldn’t help but notice the parallels between the trailer and my own situation with my job. I’ve known for years that I’d be spending more time on the phones than in meetings, and now I can see just how much time I’m wasting on these calls. As a result I have started to write out in my meeting notes what I’m spending each minute on.

I’ve always been good at reading a situation and seeing if there are any similarities between the two situations. I thought the trailer was a bit dark and nihilistic (like, maybe our job isn’t all that bad after all) and I wanted to write a note on my notes telling myself to lighten up. But I couldn’t help but see how it related to my situation, so now I do it in both directions.

When you write you write, and you write well. This time you might want to write that you had a good day at work and that the boss is really nice. The next time you write you might want to write that you had a bad day at work and that the boss is really mean.

When you trade places you swap your current existence for someone else’s. This is like trading one life for another, but its on the other side, so our lives are now on new and different tracks. When you trade places you are basically saying that you’ve been on a road trip for a while now and you’re tired, so you want to go home. But if you are like me, your car will explode on the way home.
